TRAINING
LIVERY

Starting - Restarting - Prestarting - Problem Solving

Starting/ re-starting

Starting your horse will take between 6-10 weeks, in that time they will be ridden in a halter and then the snaffle. They will begin to think their way through situations rather than react their way through them, your horse will be good to mount, walk, trot, canter and back up. They will have some fundamental manoeuvres to help keep you and them safe in case you ever run into trouble. They would also have learnt to accept some things that they may have been fearful of such as; Tarps, Flags, swinging ropes and dragging barrels. Towards the end of your horses stay you will come to work with your horse on the ground and on their back.

Prestarting

This is aimed at the younger horse, we will do most of the preparation work for when it's time for your horse to be ridden, it makes the starting process much smoother when that is done in the future.
